You can use it on individual circuits as well. I have 3 HEMs (as they are known here), but haven’t gotten them installed in my new home yet. At previous house, I had one on the mains and actually looked at the energy usage… #2 was split (one side washer, one side dryer)…#3 was split (one side for sump, one for???). For #2 and 3 I didn’t really care about the energy usage, just let me know when the pump/appliance were on.

I am still using a very old version of Mike Maxwell’s DTH for the Aeon HEM v1 with no issues. I my case, I have a very well behaved washer and dryer, in that they both always stay above a certain wattage when running, and always drop below a simple threshold when the cycle completes. It looks like the DTH you’re using may be much more sophisticated these days, which may be leading to the confusion. Here is the version I have been using for years with zero issues. Make sure you click “Configure” after switching to this DTH as it will send a special configuration to the Aeon HEM v1 to send independent wattages for each clamp. Be afraid. Be very afraid ;( Initially I hired an electrician to install mine as I had no idea how to get at the incoming electrical lines. My electrical panel has that part covered. Anyway, once installed my HEM looked like: [image][image] I had problems with the readings (showed double the watts/amps actually used) and contacted AEON. The tech wanted pictures and confirmed all was installed properly. They never could figure out why I was getting double readings so I modified the device handler and divided amps/watts by two. I am now off about 300-600 watts per month from my bill which equates to about $0.06. I can live with that

Agreed. And often this will get you in trouble with the utility co if you do it yourself .

Word of caution if you are not familiar with electrical panels you should probably have an electrician do this. Your mains cannot be turned off inside and they are live and exposed inside the electrical panel.
