I’ve been eyeing up SmartThings for years, but with every CFL/LED-compatible light switch requiring a neutral wire, I’ve been holding off - I just don’t have the sort of cash it would take to have an electrician rewire my house. While waiting for the hub 2.0 to come out, I picked up a Wink hub - it’s cheap, the hub and compatible devices are available at Canadian Home Depot stores (as opposed to having to order most SmartThings devices online and pay for shipping and customs across the Canadian border). Now here’s the really curious thing - the conventional wisdom which I find everywhere in these forums (and everywhere else on the internet) is that any in-wall light switch that will work properly with CFL/LED bulbs requires a neutral wire.
