All of that said, I personally wouldn’t use it on a dog collar. It’s unlikely to be durable enough, for one thing. And the range is going to be an issue.

The forum has a lot of great information, but to be honest, the search sucks. 
You will probably have an easier time finding things if you look at the quick browse lists in the community – created wiki. For example, if you look in the project report section, there’s a list for “animals” which has a lot of dog related projects.
