I am writing an App that needs to know if it will not be able to send a command due to the health of a hub or device failing.
But, it seems like r:hubs is not an enabled permission for SmartApps.
Does anyone have ideas for how to monitor the health of the hubs?

You’ll already get a notification from the smartthings cloud if the hub misses a scheduled check in.
With regard to the individual devices, most people use the existing smart app, “simple device viewer.” It’s also based on check ins, but with many different possible filters. You’ll probably find it can do everything you want and more.

The first time you open the application, I recommend hitting Done as soon as you see the Setup screen because if you back out of the app instead of hitting Done, the app won’t install and you’ll have to reconfigure everything.
