Having a hard time justifying the cost of Philips Hue setup

Thanks, I just got that email as well. Not having to switch the bulbs back and forth to update them will be nice. Now, if ST could just pull in some of the scenes/features from the Osram app, things would be sweet on the light front.

Okay, I can see that, but the OP didn’t mention tunable bulbs. I was basing it off that.

Philips just announced these this morning: https://9to5mac.com/2017/03/17/philips-hue-e14-b39-candle-bulbs/

I have a couple of lamps that take E14 bulbs. Looking forward to this.

So this seems to be the first place I’ve found where the discussion strayed close to the issue I’m having…

I have two Bloom lights on top of some built-in cabinets in my family room. I picked up the Hue Bloom Starter kit back in October (2 Blooms & 1st gen bridge). I recently went to Home Depot to pick up another Bloom because the cabinets are wide enough they really need at least a 3rd light. Got it home, hooked it up and added to the room… and the colors don’t match. The new Bloom has a white that’s a little cooler than the other 2, and the blue is a little brighter. I tried setting the color via Google Home and the Hue app and I could see the difference using both methods

Did I just get a bad light? Has anyone else had issues with the colors not matching? I’ve never seen anything about a second gen Bloom, but did I just miss it and the newer ones have different color settings?

I plan on exchanging it at Home Depot to see if a different light gets me better results, but curious if anyone else has seen this problem before.

I only have one bloom so can’t speak to that, but I did notice a difference in colors between two different generation lightstrips. I have 3 that are the same, earlier type and one newer one. It worked out ok because only 3 of them were used under my cabinets so I just used the newer one in another room.

I tried an Innr bulb too, and has the same issue like the Osram bulbs. When I change colour it cycles through 2-4 different colours until it finds the one I selected. It is somewhat better when connected to Hue bridge, then it only cycles through 1-2 other colours but still annoying.
The colours are not as beautiful either.
So even if it’s 60% cheaper than Hue I still stick to Hue.
