First and foremost.
Thanks to the developer for this great tool and the comunity for support.
I have a small issue that I hope someone can point me in the correct direction. I have a piston that turns on a light when motion is detected then turns it off after 3 minutes if no motion is present.(see image)
The problem im encountering is that if I manualy turn on the light it will turn it off after the time set in that particular piston…is there a way around this?
Any help is appreciated
I would use a variable.
So if light comes on with motion,
turn on light
Set variable lightname to using string on.
Then I would use else not false.
ELSE
Motion sensor is inactive
And
Variable lightname using string is on
THEN
Wait 5 minutes
Set variable lightname using string to off
Turn off.
This way the light will only turn off if turned on with motion.
EDIT: Also use cancel on piston state change in the else.
You could you could use ALL, then under your actions, make the piston execute on piston state change only. Then won’t happen after only one person leaves, it will only execute if both people are gone.

How did you get to EACH? I only have ANY or ALL.
I found it. I have to use a condition to get the EACH rather than a trigger.

Trying to setup a piston that will reset all my Lightify bulbs back to 2700K color temperature. This should be as simple as executing the setColorTemperature(2700) command on each bulb but in Core, I cannot figure out a way to run this. I can set hue, saturation, color, etc. but not temperature.
I guess I could write a very simply smart app that would do this, but I’m hoping to accomplish with Core. Suggestions?
PS> Simply setting the color to “Soft White” preset does not get the result I want, as the color temperature does not in fact revert to 2700K

Nevermind my question about ColorTemperature. I discovered that one of the bulbs in my list did not implement the ColorTemperature capability and hence it wasn’t showing up as an option in CoRE. Sorted now.

So I just picked up the Ring Pro and have it integrated with STs. I also have three Arlo cameras. Two questions.
- in CoRE, can I say that if the Ring picks up motion or the doorbell is pressed, begin recording on the Arlo cameras? And vice versa?
- currently I have VS that I turn off my Arlo cameras so when I am mowing the grass, they are not going crazy or when any presence sensor is arriving so I don’t record me pulling in. Can I do a similar thing with the Ring Pro to turn off motion detection?

Thanks again the settings posted worked. (See the final settings below please let me know if I interpreted them correctly)
The only nuisance is that Motion will overwrite the on state of the light and start the piston timer.
Any ideas on that is allso aprtecieated…
Note:I will admit it took me a few hours to set this up, I understood the script but had fun time setting it up In ST.

Try putting in an if light is off.
So,
IF
Bedroom motion sensor is active
AND
Bedroom light is off.
This way it will only turn light on with motion if the light is off.
If its on it will not evaluate to true.
EDIT: It might seem like I’m being awkward, but I try not to give concise instructions as I find I learn more by figuring stuff out myself with just a few pointers. Hope you don’t mind.

Can someone please help me with the below piston?
I need to Turn on the “Gentle wake up lights” and want the piston to wait for 30 mins and execute two more steps. Would the below piston do this? or I have to add a 30 min delay before each of the step?
Put all 3 actions into one group and they will run consecutively.
The way you have it at the moment all 3 actions will start at the same time.
Put a wait for common time after set variable to 2, wait for common time 11pm then set variable to 1.
