Are there any battery operated z-wave lights that can be used w SmartThings? I’m looking for some small lights that I can hang from the cross bars of a patio umbrella. Thx

Short answer: no.

Longer answer, if you give up on the zwave requirement, you can get some battery operated dim decorative lights that have an IR remote, then use the Harmony hub or another controller that can be made to work with smartThings and get integration that way. i use this for some battery operated candles.

Is there such a device? It would be nice to have LED lighting in places you don’t want to run power or an extension cord. Under tables, chairs, etc. Figured it could be possible with battery powered door locks, thermostats and smoke detectors but I haven’t been able to find such a device. I’m wanting to light some steps on a stand alone riser that’s not adjacent to a wall or near any power source. I see the Tethercell which would work as well, but it’s not SmartThings compatible.

For instance, I have a little battery-powered rainbow spinny light that projects patterns on the wall. I’d love to open it up and solder a few wires to a zwave/zigbee radio so I can add it to the network. What should I be looking for?

Love the IR idea - I have spare Zmote I can explore with for a place I don’t feel like running wires to. Thnx!
