A web service SmartApp: public approval or what?

I posted the question on another thread, then found this one, so sorry for the double post but made more sense here. I just got accepted into the beta but its asking me to send out the Client ID and Client Secret. Based on the conversation I think I get why now, but what access is gained with this info? Just kind of worried about providing what looks like info I’m not supposed to share.

Those values allow the 3rd party service provider to prepare to install and access an instance of only that SmartApp into any Location(s) under your Account.

Your SmartThings login and password is still required to actually install the SmartApp and authorize Things for it to access. You can uninstall the SmartApp anytime to cancel access. You can also regenerate new Client ID and Client Secret in order to invalidate the old ones.

I sent an email months ago… but no reply with “instructions” yet. Is your beta test program still going on ?

And better yet… after reading the thread… why is the Smartthings staff ignoring your requests to get this intergrated already ? I’ve been waiting months. You wrote the code already… it’s ALMOST done. @jody.albritton and @slagle please make this happen. You know you have the power to do it

Hey,
I just sent you a PM, let me know if you were able to access the beta

Smartthings devs… any updates on this ?
