This forum is for Samsung SmartThings, I think your in the wrong place though the install manual would be a good place to start.

I have some lights in a fan that run on 12 volts but I would like to control with SmartThings in Arduino considering on a poor man budget.

I’ve already burned up 2 Arduinos trying to set this up.

Cool device. Best bet is to track down the user manual for wiring diagrams. Are there any markings on the board anywhere?

There are a few projects on this community that use these. The smart sprinkler is one of them, search and you will find it. Here are the wiring instructions which may help you. That project is quite old and utilizes the now unavailable ThingShield but you should still be able to learn from it:
