Zwave Fan Controller: cloud only?

I notice the Zwave Fan Controller on IDE still shows as Cloud execution… is there any local option yet, or a way to force it?

What’s the brand/model of your device?

Is this a custom DTH?

The ones you see in the IDE are the stock Groovy device handlers. Those only run locally if SmartThings have created an equivalent handler in the hub firmware. It is not a trivial thing.

Most of the fans fingerprinted in the Zwave Fan Controller handler are also fingerprinted for the Zwave Fan driver in the Edge drivers beta.

Not a customer DTH, just the standard one.

Brand is a GE labeled Jasco manufactured model, this one:

GE Z-Wave Wireless Smart Fan Speed Control, 3-Speed, In-Wall, Includes White & Light Almond Paddles, Works with Amazon Alexa, 12730 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00PYMGVVQ/ref=cm_sw_r_awdo_navT_g_RFEG2K6ZY001552D04BA

I don’t understand… Edge beta?

SmartThings has released a number of stock Edge Drivers as a public “developers’ Beta.” So anyone can try them.

Thank you @JDRoberts !

I found a list on Samsung.com, but lost the link, which shows a bunch of device handlers and the Zwave Fan Controller was still listed as cloud execution. :frowning:
