# Z-wave utilities not working in SmartThings app

In the SmartThings app the z-wave utilities button just blinks. I’m trying to exclude a device but I’m not able to because of the utility button not working. Is there a way to exclude devices without using the app. Thanks.

yes, you can exclude in the [Advanced Web App](https://my.smartthings.com/advanced) in the hubs section. Tap on the hub name and the exclude option will be at the top.
