Yesterday, a number of Z-Wave devices went offline; one switch can be used manually, but the other switch will not work.I have other devices also offline that are Z-Wave.I have reset the hub a number of times; no luck. What is going on?
If this zwave switch will not work manually, I’d say try tripping the breaker or use the air gap switch to power cycle the switch. It could be that your other zwave devices are using that switch in the zwave mesh, and if the switch is really dead, that would explain why.
If the switch does not recover from a power cycle, then I’d remove the switch from ST and rebuild your zwave mesh to get your other devices back online.
I am unable to trip the breaker, as it is controlling devices that can’t be turned off. Also, there isn’t an air gap on this switch.
Without power cycling a dead switch to see if it recovers, then delete it from ST and rebuild your zwave mesh. If or when if comes alive, you can always readd the switch back into ST.
Once I pulled the switch that didn’t work in manual control, all the other offline Z-Wave devices came back online. I replaced the switch with a WiFi Meross Matter switch. Now my only problem is that SmartThings has the switch installed and working, but the automation I use, where the new switch is pressed and three other switches go on, refuses to work. I have rebuilt the routine, but no luck. The test button in the routine works, but pressing the switch doesn’t. I do it using Alexa and it works. Strange.
