Yale Keyless Connect z-wave, can’t pair

I’ve bought a Yale Keyless connected lock and a z wave 2 module.
How on earth do I get the lock to pair with Z wave?
I’ve tried to get it into pairing mode following the instructions but it’s just not working.

I’ve tried
enter the code then #
Press 4 #
Press 1 #
Then it flashes 1 3 5 7 9

I’ve tried to reset it by
enter the code then #
Press 3 #
Press 1 #
Then it seems to want to do something then flashes 1 3 5 7 9

Same as post 12 & 13 here

Thanks

Put your hub in general exclusion mode via the mobile app or the ST Advanced Web App and put your device into pairing mode. Once you’ve done an exclusion, do a factory reset of the lock and then restart the pairing process.

I can’t exclude it because it hasn’t been added, I can’t get the lock to go into paring mode so I can add it. I’ve tried resetting it, I’ve done a factory reset, I’m just out of ideas.

That’s the purpose of the general exclusion. ANY Z-wave device can be excluded even if it hasn’t been added. This is to exclude devices that were added elsewhere, perhaps during testing, and not excluded there. If a device was added elsewhere and not excluded, you won’t be able to add it to your hub until it’s been excluded.

See what happens after the factory reset AFTER exclusion, as @h0ckeysk8er suggested.

Ah, yes, that makes sense. I tried it and it worked. This is the first time Ive used z wave, I normally use zigbee
