The link you gave is for a Z wave sensor but the device type handler that you tried is for a zigbee sensor and that cannot work.
You can’t go just by the appearance of a device because different devices often use the same Outer case, especially if they come from Chinese factories. So the first rule of home automation applies: “the model number matters.“

Any tips on how to get the model number without having to open the device to check for any clues on the board ? Specially because it seems to be glued together.
The model number probably isn’t on the board, that’s more likely to identify the component parts. it should be on a label on the case or inside the battery compartment.
