Which Device Handler to use for Zwave sensor?

Hi friends,

I got this sensor here… -> https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000207531841.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.4da5b90a6ooJ0A

My Hub detects it and I see the temp and hum. in the logs, but I need the handler to show it in the app.

I tried the HS1HT I found here -> https://raw.githubusercontent.com/erocm123/SmartThings-3/master/Heiman/HS1HT-M/HS1HT-M.DeviceType.groovy

But it doesn’t work…

Anyone got this sensor ? which Handler did you use ?

What’s the brand and model number of the device?

The link you gave is for a Z wave sensor but the device type handler that you tried is for a zigbee sensor and that cannot work. :disappointed_relieved:

You can’t go just by the appearance of a device because different devices often use the same Outer case, especially if they come from Chinese factories. So the first rule of home automation applies: “the model number matters.“ :thinking:

Hi @JDRoberts, you are absolutely right… I was just hoping for a "easy"way out ! :slight_smile:

Any tips on how to get the model number without having to open the device to check for any clues on the board ? Specially because it seems to be glued together.

The model number probably isn’t on the board, that’s more likely to identify the component parts. it should be on a label on the case or inside the battery compartment.
