Not so much. I came from the world of HomeSeer. It has its problems - complex (although I did write a very complex plug-in for it too), expensive, requires a server. But the platform works and has a thriving community.
SmartThings doesn’t work. The alarm and presence sensor are comically bad, and the reliability has been… well, not hit or miss, but more like miss and miss more. And the community feels abandoned. Comparing to Iris isn’t really relevant; you’re pitting McDonalds against Dairy Queen for gourmet beef, when both are losers. Look at HomeSeer, Insteon, PowerHome.
When was the last promised weekly update, really? Doesn’t that matter?
