Like many it seems, I’m having trouble integrating my smart buttons (Ihseno / Tuya Zigbee 3.0) with My Aeotec Smartthings hub. I want to have a smart plug that powers a water pump that circulates hot water from an on-demand water heater in our garage to the far end of our house where the majority of the use occurs. The plug/pump would then shut down after 2 minutes, allowing instant hot water. I have a routine set up that does exactly that - if I use the ST app on my phone. Where I have a problem is with the buttons. I would like to have one in our utility room, each of our bathrooms, and our kitchen. The buttons are visible through the app, they just won’t do anything. I press them (once, twice, or hold) and nothing happens. I try to activate them through the app - nothing. In the app they don’t appear as I would expect a button to; there is on or off, and neither allows the buttons to work as expected.
This set-up seems like it should be pretty straight forward, which makes it that much more frustrating. I’ve rebooted the hub, removed the buttons and reloaded them, replaced the buttons I originally purchased; nothing seems to make the buttons act like buttons. Given that the routine works as desired between to hub and the plug, I feel like I’m close here. I’m very new to this smart home stuff and have never done any programming for anything. Any help would be very appreciated.
What make/model are the buttons? Do you know what driver they are using? Please post a screenshot of the Summary section of the ST Advanced Web App for the device which will provide info that can help direct additional feedback.
Tuya buttons are not standard and you need to find the right Edge Driver.
What driver are your buttons currently using? Open device tile, press 3 dots in upper right corner, then driver.
Have you tried any other drivers?
The following has links to 3 button drivers:
If they don’t work you will need to post the fingerprints and clusters. For that you need to install the ZigBee thing Mc driver and post a screenshot of the history page. You can find it at.
Tuya devices, whether WiFi or Zigbee, are not designed to work with hubs from other companies. They use a lot of proprietary non-standard code which can be hard to work around, although there are some very creative community members here who have made an effort.
The exception is if the Tuya device Is exposed via a Tuya matter bridge, In which case it can be brought over to other platforms that way via matter. But Tuya has not exposed all of its devices or all of their features in this manner. You just have to research each model individually.
The following FAQ details how to determine which options are available for your particular Tuya Zigbee device
So… there are a number of smart buttons from different brands which will work out of the box with SmartThings, including some Zigbee ones. But unfortunately, not Tuya. Because of the proprietary code that they use, it’s always a more complicated process.
Hello, and thanks for the reply. I don’t know where to find the Advanced Web App, so I don’t know what to take a picture of. Amazon calls them Ihseno ZigBee 3.0 smart button Tuya scene remote. I can find driver info via my phone app if it would help, but I haven’t changed anything. As I said, I’m a total novice.
The drivers are 2024-12-17t18:00:47.461742858. I followed the link you provided but immediately got lost sifting through the results. I will keep looking but most of it might as well be another language. Thanks for your help just the same.
