Use OctoBlu or HTTP Post to Set Presence

It seems that people have been complaining forever about the reliability of the geofencing/presence sensor functionality. There is another thread where some have tried to corrolate the wi-fi connectivity of their phone to their router with the presence, with varying levels of success.

I have integrated OctoBlu with my SmartThings account, and I am using it to extract the ARP table from my DD-WRT router. Then, based on the exitence of the phone in the ARP table, I can determine if the device is present. I could use the OctoBlu to send the POST and change my device condition, which would be much more reliable than the geofencing.

So now comes my question…

If I want to set the presence of my device in SmartThings, what would the HTTP POST look like?

Thoughts?

Thanks!
