[OBSOLETE] Hue B Smart (Groups & Scenes) - Remove Popcorn Effect!

Interesting, thank you. When I am home I will have a go again.

For future reference, how do I install via github? When I have tried previously I can never find what I want to install from the list and so just add from code. Presumably it will automatically update if I install via GitHub too?

All working now, thanks. I have added all of my smart bulbs now and added several groups but how do I assign bulbs to a group?

Groups are rooms in your hue app, add bulbs to rooms or create more rooms

You have webCoRE added but purple means it needs a update, black is upto date.

@tmleafs Sorry to be a pain but i donā€™t understand what you mean when you said ā€œuse github integration stops you from making mistakes like this.ā€ How do i install a device handler using github rather than inserting the raw code?

Thatā€™s great, thank you. The part i was missing previously was going to setting and adding a new repository in there.

When playing with this, i have managed to add several of the same repositories; how do i delete them? I would think they would appear under the setting tab (hence why i added several as they werenā€™t appearing) but they donā€™t?

Removed all the old DTHs and the smart app and upgraded to this tonight, now Im not able to dim on any of the groups which was working previously. Ive just has to set all my webcore scripts to use turn on instead of set level to 100%. I use different dimming in the daytime for certain lights so just turn on at 100% isnt sufficient in my scenario.

Anyone come across/fixed this?

These are all hue white bulbs across 3 groups (I originally installed hue b smart to eliminate the popcorn effect).

Does changing the level in smartthings app work?
If so post a webCoRE Piston here

Thanks for the quick reply. I forgot to add changing the level in ST does nothing. I mentioned webcore as I dont really control anything manually and the impact I sawwas with the scripts that control these Hue groups.

Has anyone noticed any further issues regarding this app?

Over the last 2-3 days, I have found that widgets in the classic app and third party buttons (eg wallmote working with webcore to trigger events), do not appear to be triggering events when pressed, although the hue b smart buttons in the classic app continue to work.

Perhaps it is just my setup and I have broken something! I need to do some investigating if so. That said, it is unclear why the button devices would work whereas the widgets would notā€¦

New user here ā€¦when trying to add my HUE Bridge in the smart app , it picks it up, asks me to press the link button on my hue bridge and then returns
"you are not authorised to perform the requested operation "

any ideas to get this going ?

Thanks
Bill P

Iā€™m having the same problem, although Iā€™m not seeing that message. But when I press the link button on the bridge, Smartthings returns to the smartapps list screen after about 10 seconds with no confirmation. When I click Hue B Smart again, the hub shows under unlinked still. Iā€™ve tried several times.

Please make sure you have removed all hue devices from ST before you can use this 3rd party app

If that is not the problem post ide logs of you pressing the button

aaaah ā€¦so all lights currently in ST have be removed- I have a lot of them !! ā€¦missed that stepā€¦!
will I lose all the scenes and routines I have already in ST created doing thisā€¦I assume I willā€¦?

heres the log anyway

I dunno I use webcore for my automation

moving to my app your have less devices I have 26 bulbs but thats only 10 groups saving 16 devices

Ok having removed the hue Bridge from ST, it did indeed authorise the bridge in your app
just found a video of yours showing that the colours etc are accessed from THINGS in STā€¦will experiment how that worksā€¦can colour settings etc be saved somehow to be later recalled if set in your app ?

I see that its picking up scenes to be added (looks like they are scenes from HueconnectHD ) however its not clear which group of bulbs they apply to in the appā€¦in hueconnectHD the scenes are particular to GROUPS ā€¦does that info show up somewhere ā€¦its hard picking out scenes when they are labelled the same for diff end groups in hueconnect (purple, dim etc )

Just an observation , Action tiles is working well having re added the Hue B smart bulbs, and colours can be changed there etc as before, however action tiles has stopped SHOWING the actual colour in the tileā€¦it did that before I added the app ā€¦any ideas?

Hope that makes some sense !
thanks in advance

Bill P

You need to rename the scenes in Hue or hueconnectHD so there ā€œLight/Room Colourā€ of example ā€œTV Blueā€

Didnā€™t know this was a feature will see if I can add it over the weekend

No you need to use smartlighting or webcore or create a scene in hue

Much appreciated ā€¦some v useful info there

Thanks again

Bill P

Slight issueā€¦Iā€™ve redone all my scenes in hueconnectHD to name them by room as suggested, but the app is still showing old scenes that I donā€™t have ā€¦if I try to remove them in the hue b smart app they stay put ! How can I make it forget all scenes and add them again easilyā€¦tried deleting the bridge and re adding the scenes but it says bulbs/scenes are in use and deletion not possible
Hope that makes some sense

Thanks
