I’ve spoken to another person using this SmartApp and they get the same results

Yup i just noticed that smartthings wasnt refreshing the lights and discovered the bugs you and just come on here to ask if anyone else is getting errors, clearing everyone is, I just tested my friends houses they get errors but its all different. I’m on the ST Beta team I keep moaning Groups and Scenes should be officially supported by now. My app is buggy and clearing ST have done backend changes thats made it even worst

Hopefully they will roll these changes back. If they have no plan to support groups, they shouldn’t interfere with things that work.

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I’ve been up all night trying to get the app to work. When it’s said “You need to remove all standard hue apps and devices before you can install this one”, does it mean remove hue apps and devices from the SmartThings hub or the Hue bridge? I’m assuming it means the SmartThings hub, which I did, but I just cannot get the app to see my Hue bridge.

I had it linked last week but after having reinstalled SmartThings with a new location last night, it’s now buggered.

My log says:

The steps that I’ve taken are:

Uninstalled all Hue B Smarts devices from ST
Removed the app and device handlers
Reset my Hue bridge
Created rooms on the Philips Hue app and set up lights and accessories.
Created a new location for the ST hub and set up rooms
Updated the app and device handlers from: tmleafs/Hue_B_Smart (master)
Couldn’t connect the app to the Hue bridge
Renamed new location to the same as the old location
Successfully connected to the Hue bridge
Unable to connect to Hue devices on the bridge
Unlinked the Hue bridge to try again
Now I’m unable to reconnect to the Hue bridge.

Is it that I’m doing something wrong or am I just experiencing the issues in the posts above relating to backend changes? Would appreciate any guidance. Thanks.

It’s just bad timing smartthings has changed backend stuff during the 6th September which has broken this app for the time being I’m affaid.

Good news though I will have a test setup of smartthings and hue at work to help me improve and fix this app but annoying I didn’t have time to set it up this week so can’t be used over this weekend.

Thanks for the update. Can I check the right way to set things up for when the time comes.

Should I add bulbs/devices and scenes to the Hue bridge first, then install the HBS app or should the Hue bridge have no bulbs/devices or scenes added, but add them as Things in SmartThings after the HBS app has been installed?

I’ll have to see what actually changed. Not very astute at groovy yet but this is good learning material.

Where did you get the documentation of 1.7?

Thanks for this. Onto something a little less important

I have a lot of API calls for webCoRE to turn lights on with very specific colors and brightness.

When I do that, I know that it never will be catching up to put the lights in the on-state in SmartThings.

Other than writing a piston to refresh all hue devices every minute, is there a way to poll in the DTH for the hub?

Maybe a capability of polling?
