Thanks very much @Michael_D for the advice. Got my hub and most of my bulbs set up without trouble! Still not able to add my regular Hue white (not white ambiance). All the issues I previously had was down to user error mixed with not understanding just how ST works! Thanks to @tmleafs and @infofiend for creating such a comprehensive app. Samsung should really ship ST with the ability to work with popular platforms like Hue better.

This is great. What an improvement over Philips implementation. I was able to drop a few virtual switches now that I have my Hue groups listed without having the individual bulbs. Not to mention having push button scenes… The wife acceptance factor is going up today.

Thanks for starting a new one.

tmleafs,

Any chance to look at my request above to rename flash to flash_on or something similar I posted in the previous posting?

This is so I could use the flash command in the DTH since WebCoRE also has an emulated flash command. I was able to fix it on my own and confirmed it works if it’s renamed in the DTH with WebCoRE.

Does this app support quick updates to the state of the Hue bulbs.
The default super LAN Hue in ST takes around 10 minutes to show the correct color temperature and state.

I installed the app and DTHs but it is still stuck on “searching for hue bridge” for more than an hour. I have tried pressing the pair button the bridge as well but no dice.

You need to remove all standard hue apps and devices before you can install this one.

On this app it’s a refresh every 5 minutes which is what I believe the official app used. You can only pull information from the hue bridge it can’t be pushed which is why we have the lag. Best option is to use smartthings devices to control lights and not use the hue app or hue sensors or buttons

Oh ok. Thanks!

Something really odd happened to me yesterday all of my bulbs were working fine when being triggered by motion until about 8PM central time, and then suddenly my motion events were turning my bulbs off not on. In the IDE logs and recent event logs, I could see that the command to turn the bulb on was being sent, but the reverse was happening.

I removed all of the bulbs from smartThings as well as the app and then recreated all of my automation again after adding the app back in.

I am not sure if this was a Hue B smart issue or a smartThings issue, but it was very odd. Has anyone else experienced this?

My Hue B Smart has stopped being able to get updates from Hue again.

On doing a device search I get the following in the IDE

Hoping I can get some help as I’m having trouble connecting my hub. I’ve read through both threads on this, have the latest code from https://github.com/tmleafs/Hue_B_Smart. I’ve removed all existing hue devices in ST. I’ve tried reinstalling Hue B Smart several times as well.

The ST mobile app screen sits on searching for hue bridges. I don’t see any errors in the logs and see this.

I’ve removed the unique identifiers from the logs, but the IP address matches the LAN address and the mac address of my hue hub.

Trying to install this too - spent an hour reading the old thread, i’ve got the point where it’s searching for devices and doesn’t find anything. Have tried adding and deleting a few times with no luck. Log seems to display a loop. Here it is.

So the bridge gets linked?

Just devices isn’t good enough the original connect app needs to be removed too

Have you added new devices? If so what devices were they?

No new devices added to Hue. As far as I’m aware the setup hasn’t changed.

I need to seen more log before and after what you have already posted and use the “Preformatted text” button to make it easier to and pretty like @realdannys did

I’ll see if I can grab that.

I’m wondering if there’s more in the JSON string but is there anyway of
getting the log without it being truncated?

afraid not limitation of smartthings

Here you go. Will try to get the full response from the Hub next week (currently out of the country)
