I would have to create a new specific profile and code for these devices.
What I would like to convey to the users of these devices, that they are defective devices or that do not meet the standards and it would be better not to use them, but they insist that they want to use them and make them work, but this may affect the operation of the your zigbee network
I am also realizing that this device was added for another user in October 2022 and was working correctly and therefore your device may be bad and I am bothering other users
Yup, power meter works, but energy consumption doesnt. The update rate is a couple of minutes, but Good enough for my use, thank you so much for your continued work on this!
@Mariano_Colmenarejo, Thanks once again and truly appreciate all your efforts on setting the driver up for the user community.
All what I was asking for is an option in the settings menu (letâs call it it âRefresh Intervalâ for now) so the users can set the refresh interval themselves, in seconds. Since you have rolled this out to the user community, you can add this option in the setting as 90 seconds by default so it will not affect the other users who are already your driver for their devices. Would this be possible please?
The reason why I am asking is because I use this to trigger routines for my fan; speed 1 is 35 mW, speed 2 is 39 mW and speed 3 will be 44 mW and waiting for 90 sec will not be appropriate for this hence the request to create a field to enter the value of a refresh interval.
I need to know if this behavior is only on your device or on all these model and manufacturer.
I meant that if this device works well for other users because it autonomously sends power and energy reports, then this modification of the driver would cause their devices to work poorly and they would have messages from reading the driver and also those sent by the device autonomously.
For you it would work fine then, but for others it would stop working correctly.
On the other hand, I donât know if the increments of 4 or 5 mw that you want to detect are reported on your device, let me explain:
Your device uses a 1 divisor for power.
The minimum changes that the device would report are changes of 1w (1000 mw).
The default configuration of the lua libraries is 5:
Noted @Mariano_Colmenarejo and based on what you said, would it be possible to just create a field in the settings and use that as a âoverriding valueâ if the user wants to choose a refresh interval? This way, the existing users will not be impacted and I can also get what I want if you understand what I mean.
Sorry I meant Watts and not mW. For me, it showed 35w @Speed 1 and when I refreshed, it showed 38w @speed 2 etc. so it detects within a range of 3 as far as I can see.
Thatâs interesting @Paul_Oliver , I have not come across this before so can you guide on how to set this up? Is it just creating a user account and going from there?
@Paul_Oliver Can you post your trigger condition please as I am able to refresh it if I specify a particular time? Also, I am not sure if I can use a variable in free version.
At some point i believe the plug stopped responding to my controls. I switched over to the âSmartthings Driver for Zigbee switch devices for Smartthingsâ and have been using that driver since. This was about a month or two ago.
Best regards,

I live in the UK and have been using the KP115 for power monitoring for the past 2 years but it suddenly stopped working since yesterday. I can see Amber light flashing, tried resetting several times but no luck so can you suggest some Wi-Fi and Zigbee plugs that instantly provides power like KP115 so I can buy it and set it up to work for my TV routines?
I have had good luck with both the Kasa KP115 and KP125 power monitoring plugs. Mine are still working.
EDIT: I forgot that I have 3 SmartThings branded WiFi plugs with power reporting. They work ok, but are a pain to re-pair when the drop offline. I donât think they are currently being sold.
I donât know of any other choices that report power monitoring in ST.
I would stay away from Zigbee and Z-wave power monitoring plugs. They can flood you mesh with data and cause problems.
I donât have my own experience with plugs with energy monitoring, I only have some meross wifi, but they donât send that information to smartthings.
If what you want is to detect when the TV is on or off and it connects to the network, you can use the LAN device monitor driver from @TAustin. I use it on two TVs and it works well
