I have the same issue.
Tired blocking UDP port and resetting device several times.
Tried Ethernet and Wifi
Hello, I am having the same issue, my hub is stuck on 33-504 error, and nothing is happening, my serial number is 5011000412. your assistance would be greatly appreciated. M/N: IM6001-V3P06
Router/modem is pfsense, have attempted to block udp port 123 and that doesnāt seem to work
You sure that you set the source port and not the destination port? From the original post:
Please be sure to set only the source port as 123 and do not specify a destination port.
Iām asking, because usually if you want to block something, you set the destination port. But in this case, it must be the source port.
Since youāre using of pfSense: you can either block or reject packages. Reject should work better than block, but try both.
If NTP is operating in a client/server mode, which sounds quite likely when using a pool server, then the missing detail would be that it is the source port for incoming connections that you need to filter out (or both directions would be OK too).
It could alternatively be the destination port for outgoing connections (or both directions). You do only want to filter on the port 123 end though which is probably what they were trying to emphasise.

Also to @Andy_77 but he solved his issue.
Hi @nayelyz, I have the same problem. When registering the hub with the app, it gets stuck while downloading the firmware. My router is a TP-Link Archer C80 and I canāt block port 123, or at least I havenāt found a way to do it, and I donāt know anyone who could help me with this. What other alternatives do I have? Thanks in advance!

I purchased an AEOTEC hub last week from the second-hand market. It was factory sealed and had never been used before.
On my first attempt to set it up, I received error 33-504. I then restarted the hub and connected it via LAN cable. This time, I was able to add it to the system ā the hub began downloading the firmware, but the installation froze at 99% and remained stuck for over 30 minutes.
After performing a reset, the 33-504 error started appearing every time I tried to set it up again.
I blocked UDP port 123 (NTP) as recommended, but it didnāt help. The hub refuses to connect to the internet via LAN.
I also attempted to connect via WiFi, but without success.
Serial number: 4021217891, manufactured in 11/2020.
I captured the log after the installation attempt with UDP port 123 blocked.

Hi, @goldenval.
Have you followed the steps specified in the main post? Troubleshooting SmartThings Hub 2018 and Aeotec Hub
In my Starlink router I canāt find how to disable NTP ports. THereās only adult filter on/off function. Or can you please advise me how to do it on DNS level.
Donāt know if it will work but you can try blocking ntp.org
