I’m stucked now… Dont know how help. Please select all filters (online communication, social network, play to surf, media, etc…) and try add your hub. Hard reset your hub, wait for red/green light > Open smartthings and add your hub.

I think you just need ONE keyword: ntp.org {rather than all of the servers}

Is your Hub connected via Wired LAN or WiFi?

Do you see it in the list of Connected Devices?

conected thru lan. yes i see all devices

No keyword at all, because that’s the web content filter!

When he enters “videotape”, every website with that word gets blocked.

What we’re trying to achieve is to block a host/domain name, not website content with a keyword in it.

Downloaded the manual for his router. Seems that it’s not possible to block hosts, ports, or anything like that:

I managed to add it over WiFi but after succefuly update and registed, i deleted all blocking entries on router, reseted hub again and re-added to smartthings over Lan. It’s working flawless with 137 devices and more than 150 routines. Look, after adding my V3 hub i used the replace hub feature… My original hub was a V2. After Run the replacement feature, all my devices, routines and drivers have migrate succefuly to my new V3. All working flawless…

Fun fact: some router manufacturers offer interface emulators. Here’s the one from @apaczek :

Can’t find anything to block hosts or ports.

Any chance get list of routers with the option to block udp ports. Thanks eveyrone for help

Another thought… maybe try going after your “Modem” rather than the “Router”.

Do you have access to your Modem’s Web Interface? If not, contact your ISP and ask them to help you Temporarily Block UDP Port 123.

Given the success that @Pyrylamo had in using the Parental Controls to block the Time Server, seems like this still may be an option.

My bad! I meant to say “Domain Name” rather than “Keyword”. The use of ntp.org in that field should prevent the Hub from hitting any server within that domain, regardless of the port it’s trying to hit.

It occurred to me that we’re assuming he’s using an ntp.org Time Server, but that may NOT be the case!

@apaczek can you check which Time Server your Router is using:
Go to System > Time & Language:

Then go back to HomeCare > Parental Controls
Delete any items in the table that pertain to your prior tests/attempts

Click the +Add Button
Give it a Name (ex: Block Time Server)
Select your Hub as the only device (i chose the tp-link_test device from the emulator).

Click Next
Filter Level=Adult
Do NOT check any of the Category Filters
But in the Keyword Filter (note that it states “a keyword/URL”)
So… type in the main domain of the Time Server (ex from above would be just nist.gov)
Click the “+” button next to it
(alternatively, you could add the full URL for each Time Server (ex: time-nw.nist.gov then “+” and time.nist.gov then “+”)
Click the Next Button
(following screen; no time limits; no bed time; just click “Save

Power your Hub back up; When it begins alternating Red/Green Light, try adding the Hub in SmartThings

Also in the same situation. Tried the steps and no luck with getting this to connect. How can I get a replacement device.

For those who have a Fritzbox as a router. Go to the gui of fritz.box.

In the gui via Internet> filters> access profiles> click on new access profile. On this page enter the router name of the hub. Further scroll down and click Advanced Settings. The page shows more.

At the bottom of the page right select Block network application and choose All but browsing and emailing.

After this setting the hub will start downloading files and provide the hub with the latest update. If not, restart the hub and try again.

If succesfull remove the block for normal TCP traffic.

Good luck.
