Hi,
I’m new to SmartThings development and need a little help. I’m trying to get the switch example up and running.
I have successfully setup a development environment with the toolchain on a virtual machine based on Ubuntu 18.04. I use Hyper-V as virtualization software and I have a NodeMCU 0.9 that I would like to deploy the binaries on. I can build the example project on Ubunto and have these output files:
address_info.txt
bootloader.bin
ota_data_initial.bin
partitions.2MB.bin
switch_example.bin
This is the content of address_info.txt:
ota_data_initial.bin : 0x11000
bootloader.bin : 0x0000
switch_example.bin : 0x14000
partition.bin : 0x8000
I can not deploy these files directly from Ubuntu as I can’t reach the serialport connected to NodeMCU from Ubuntu but only from the host machine. I have tried to flash the four files by using the ‘NodeMCU Firmware Programmer’ tool from Windows.
The files seams to be successfully flashed but I can’t connect to the NodeMCU afterwards to setup the WiFi connection for the device. Isn’t that what I’m supposed to do before I can add the device in the SmartThings app on my phone?
Hope someone can help me get back on track
Best regards
Joachim
