I need to check what commands sharptools allows for sonos. The other issue is I don’t really have one to test but let me see what I can do.
can you try the following: "Set device to 30%"
Replace device with the name of the actual sonos unit.

I’m at the office here, but let me try my Sonos units at home to see if it works that way. I’ll report back in a minute here
Totally worked. Ok Google, Set Master bedroom Sonos to 20% worked like a charm.
Then I just need to make a few alterations to the profile to work with the syntax. I am expecting to post an update soon… just not sure exactly when since I am currently travelling for work and really haven’t been able to work on this in a while.
The only thing I noticed that doesn’t work is this, “Ok Google, Pause Master Bedroom Sonos.” or “Ok Google, Stop Master Bedroom Sonos”. So instead I have a Virtual Switch that just stops it for me, so not the biggest deal
The most important part still works, which is Volume Control. Thanks for this
Keep up the good work, Neal! Just a heads up that I released SharpTools 2.3 from beta this weekend and it includes the Tasker variable support for Routines and Modes (from your request).
Hi Neal
Are these still the most updates files to use?
Voice Action: https://pdfzebrablindsca.s3.amazonaws.com/Voice_Action_2016_07_04_8_11.prf.xml5
Recognize Devices: https://pdfzebrablindsca.s3.amazonaws.com/Recognize_Devices_2016_07_04_8_11.prf.xml
Just wanna know before start messing with it
Yes they are… I’ve been so behind on updates lately. I have a new version ready to go… just need to squash one bug. If you say “turn off Basement lights” it might send the command to everything with basement in it.
Thank you Neal for the great work.
I have trouble trying to open my garage. Sharptools seems to have problem understanding the command. Please advise.
In addition, I am looking forward to the new updates. Hopefully it would allow us to execute routines?
Thanks.
Ton
Ok… guys I know I’ve been promising an update for well over a month. I need testers… mainly because I’ve been out of town for well over 2 months (when I was only supposed to be for 2 weeks) and only expected to get back home by December. So… I know I asked this before but I need 2 - 3 testers. I can’t test from where I am… it could make things at home go haywire when it’s been working well so far. Any volunteers?
If you’ll have me, I’m in.
Count me in.
I’m always here, Neil. I just reset my phone and haven’t set tasker back up yet but this will give me an excuse to do it.
I will create a group with you 3 this weekend to start testing. And post updates on this thread as it seems stable
BTW are you having trouble with “Open/Close Garage Door”. If so, I haven’t really implemented open/close. Only turn on/off, set/dim. Open and close is in the next revision.
OK. Got it.
I just found this thread. Thank you for sharing this! I have Google assistant on my phone so I had to add an extra step in Tasker for a workaround to get autovoice to be recognized. Not a big issue for me.
My question is how I can turn off all lights in one room by somehow grouping them. I don’t see an option to group them in sharptools so is the only way to create a virtual switch and include all of them? For instance, I have 4 lights in my bathroom named bathroom 1, bathroom 2 and so on. I want to be able to say “OK Google, why don’t you (autovoice workaround) turn off bathroom lights.”
Also, is the latest revision working with the new routines addition in Sharptools? I would be willing to give it a try if it’s still being tested and worked on.
Hi Jeremy,
I think Neal is still tied up working in Dubai, we have not heard from him in awhile. Routines are not functioning yet and I think the bug still exists that you can’t dim below 10%.
As for grouping lights, you can use a virtual switch to tie all the other switches in smart lighting, core, etc. Someone else may have another idea. I use a couple really old smart apps but my system has been in place for a couple years, before smart lighting or core were around.
Steve
Thank you, Steve. The grouping using a virtual switch works great. However, I seem to have another problem now. I’m not sure where I went wrong but Google assistant is picking up everything I say as an autovoice command even though I set the trigger word to be “Please.”
I followed the Google assistant workaround guide found in the settings menu which takes me here:
This in combination with Neal’s Tasker profile work great, but now I no longer have Google search functionality. Is there a way to fix this so that autovoice only kicks in after I say “Please?”
I haven’t had time to review the docs but have a quick question; did you by chance turn on the option in autovoice to cancel the Google search? If that’s not I’ll try and look at the docs tomorrow. I’m not real familiar with new pixel phone.
