Synching Automations Across Multiple Devices

Just got a SmartThings hub & multisensor yesterday. I’m a long time Alexa user with LOTS of smart home devices from various vendors.

After some missteps I figured out how to create SmartThings automations so that when the multisensor is open (garage mode), it turns on a deadicated lamp in in my living room & sends me a text msg. I have another automation that turns the lamp off when I close the garage. These were created on my Samsung Note 9. The idea with the lamp is that I want a visual reminder that I left my garage door open.

On another device (Samsung tablet) I created a third automation that turns on just about every smart device in my house if the Garage door opens during a certain time period. I really want to know if my door is opened unexpectedly during these hours.

The problem is, I can’t figure out how to get the automation created on the tablet to be visble on the phone.

Have I incorrectly assumed that automations, etc. automatically sync across all your devices where you have the new SmartThings app installed & you are logged on with the same user account on all the devices?

All automations should be visible on all devices. Click on the menu (3 bars in the upper left of the screen) and select Automations. See if they are all there?

There are also other types of rules that can be created. Smart Lighting is an example. If you install the Smart Lights app, you would find those in menu > Smartapps > Smart Lighting.

Anyway… welcome and hope this helps get you started. Feel free to ask questions on the forum. There is always some willing to assist.
