I just received a 4 pack of Sylvania Smart+ Zigbee outlets. they seemed to work really well, but I’m noticing that 3 of the 4 have turned off spontaneously after 30-90 minutes. The smartthings log just shows the power is off, but doesn’t say why. The last one is still on, so it may not be expected behavior. I have a pretty low load on all of them (Christmas lights on 2, LED 15-watt lamps on the other 2), so don’t know if that makes a difference.
2 that are shutting off only have a timer that hasn’t fired yet (off at 11:45 p.m. - on at 6:00 a.m.) - otherwise, the only other thing that’s hooked up is ActionTiles.
In the event list for these, I see some configure commands firing shortly after they turn off, so perhaps they are trying to do a firmware update or something. I guess I’ll let them simmer overnight and see if they settle down tomorrow.
Thanks for the question - I’ll update as I find out more.
It’s still happening to at least one of the switches this morning. Right after it shuts off, the event list shows “Configure command was sent to Lamp2” - The others have shown similar events right after shutoff…except my Lamp1 switch hasn’t seemed to suffer from this. It had a configure command sent right after I set it up yesterday, but not since and it hasn’t unexpectedly shut off…
Update: I’ve done this twice and it seems to have worked with two of the devices. I have reset them and reconnected to my hub, but I’ve had to leave the default name of “SYLVANIA SMART+ Smart Plug” intact. If I change the name, the behavior of randomly shutting off begins to happen. It’s a workaround, but obviously not the ideal situation. I think I have enough info to contact support now, however…
