Well, I can report that the hub update hasn’t fixed the problem with these devices disconnecting. Which is what I was kind of expecting.
Bugger, with all those Zigbee improvements listed I was kind of hoping it would fix it too!
I just scored three swannone smart plugs here in Australia. No one was buying them in store so the retailer was about to send them all back. I picked up three at $24 aud each!
They paired easy and I just changed their type to standard zigbee power switch. They’ve been fine for a day now. But I’ll update if they fail at all.
Which retailer? Do they still have any?
Jb hifi but don’t know if that price is still on. They’re still working great.
@PailOckenden If these are now working and the Xiaomi ones too, does that mean Smarthings in one of their last updates fixed or changed something?
I’ll try mine again, but I suspect they aren’t working.
Thanks. Looks like they are on sale today, but not as cheap as what you got it for. $34.30. Strange how some items like the key fobs and windows and door sensor discounted price at JB is the standard price at Officeworks. But the smart plugs are definitely cheaper.
The swannone pocket sockets from what I recall always did work as they were HA1.2. The sensors used something more proprietary.
I hear yea
Yes, my Swann sockets have always worked apart from one that went bang !
It’s the door/window sensors and the motion sensors which work once then give up.
How did you get the SwannOne Siren to work. I tried all the options - Alarm capability, Simulated Alarm etc. in IDE Type but cannot get it working. I like SwannOne since it is outdoor and battery operated. Did not find anything else that is outdoor and battery operated.
Any help to connect SwannOne Siren with Smartthings will be appreciated.
Anyone know if the socket acts as a zigbee repeater?
I just tried my old SWANNONE motion sensors and door/window sensors again and they seem to be working now !
I added them as things then went in to https://graph-eu01-euwest1.api.smartthings.com/ to change the device type to SmartSense Motion Sensor and SmartSense Open/Closed Sensor for the window/door sensors.
They have been working for 10 hours now and haven’t dropped off like they did last year.
The motion sensors report that they are model: SWO-MOS1PA
application:
manufacturer: SwannONe
endpointId: 01
The door sensors report as model: SWO-WDS1PA
application:
manufacturer: SwannONe
endpointId: 01
The door sensors do report a Temperature of -312.3 C though.
Perhaps a recent update from ST has quietly fixed them ?
I have put them into some routines to turn lamps on/off and send push notifications and still working after 10 hours.
I’ll see how they are doing in the morning and report back. I hope I am not re-inventing a fix here that I may have missed.
Biggus
They are still working today and haven’t given up !
Happy bunny.
@a4refillpad will be pleased - I gave him my SwannOne door sensors (because if anyone needs more sensors, it’s Wayne!)
That’s interesting. I tried one a few days ago and it dropped. I think it’s similar to the xiaomi sensors where you need to try multiple times…
Just curious…how is this still going?? Is it still working or are you experiencing drop off’s?
I have 2 Swannone outlets and it has been working well. No issues in terms of performance. I’m just curious, i can’t seem to get the Power to show. I’m using the Zigbee Switch Power as the dTH at the moment…but no power reading.
Is there a custom dTH that will enable power monitoring?
Oddly, 2 out of 5 are still working. All seem identical. I cannot trust them so have replaced them with Fibaros and Aeon 5 & 6 multisensors which are the real deal. The power outlets are working except for the one that went BANG. No wattage reported tho.
As a smart system generally the Swannone is awful and mine is in the bin.
