I have just ordered one of these keypads.
The Frient website has links to their Edge drivers. frients with SmartThings Edge
Is the keypad driver the one called “Zigbee Security Panel”?

Yes that’s the one
They couldn’t have called it the same name as the actual product?
Received mine today and set it up. It’s nice. Seems like a quality product. Buttons feel good. I used the official driver from their website. Allows setting of PIN code, entry and exit delay from the settings:
The PIN code is a maximum of 4 digits.
The only slight disappointment is that the device view doesn’t show the mode it is in.
But you can use the mode state in a routine as either the “if” condition or the “then” action.
Not sure if viewing the mode in the detail view or the device is available in the beta driver?
In My.smartthings.com it possible to set additional key codes longer than 4 numbers.
Actually, I have just noticed that I can set a longer PIN code from within the ST app.
You can add multiple numbers and if you are connected to SharpTools you can reset/delete codes in automations…….
Wow. There are so many options exposed for it in SharpTools. Thanks for the hint ![]()
If you have access to the RBOY APPS driver check out this frient keypad driver, it has native two automatic sync and integration with Home Monitor (so you don’t need to use any special routines or automations) and has an option to work as a standalone virtual lock. Tons of other features like programming 999 codes with mixed length 1-20 digit user codes or fob’s via SmartThings SLGA, the web app or any other compatible lock programming app, SOS button, Strobe alarm, entry/exit delays, viewing programmed codes, create custom automations around user names/slots, alarms, panic, tamper and more from the SmartThings mobile app itself and tons more features
Hi! I know the frient keypad supposed to work with arming the alarm but I would like to use it in a simpler way. Would it work?
I want to be able to set a pin code and after it is entered correctly on the keypad, two things happens:
And if the pin is wrong/correct will the keypad make any sound? Does it have a speaker?
Hi the @robroy driver does all this and more. But the standard driver doesn’t
Hello Jeff, Are you happy with the Frient Keypad? How many NFC Tags you can Add/use?
Frient themselves now have a (beta) driver in their Edge drivers channel.
Yes I’ve had it for a long time now, batteries are due for replacement for the first time. I don’t use NFC as my door lock has that already. I mostly use the Key pad though
Thank you. I will buy one now. I need the NFC, my door lock has just the code option.
Could please help and share the link for the Frient edge driver? I couldn’t find it anywhere (and don’t want to buy the rboy driver). Thank you!
In theory, you simply go to frient.com and navigate to their SmartThings Edge page.
In practice, this particular page has gone 404 - missing. Maybe contact Frient and ask?
Yes, their webpage is displaying a 404 error. I’ve already emailed them but haven’t gotten a reply yet. I’ll likely return the device since it’s useless to me if it doesn’t work out of the box.
And thank you! I decided to move away for ST, welcome home assistant !
This should be the up to date link for Frient Edge drivers
