Submerged leak sensor?

I’m using my smartthings leak sensor at a sump pump location for monitoring while we are on vacation.

Will the leak sensor be OK (after being dried out) if it becomes submerged?

Probably not. I only use the ST and Lowes branded leak sensors for places like under sinks and by toilets to capture water on the surface from a leaking hose/pipe/fixture/etc.

For sump pump applications, I’d use a Utilitech leak sensor that has a long wired probe that can withstand being submerged:

I have the ST Leak Detector. It does survive being submerged (mine has been twice now!) but you do have to replace the battery every time…
