I would like to see the STHM (Smart Things Home Monitor) add support for mold detectors and air quality sensors. The experience could act just like the leak detectors. If one of the sensors triggers for mold or high particulates, just alert for that sensor and run the response action. You can do this with automations, but if you want to know which sensor triggered the alert, you have to create one automation per sensor. It gets very tedious and busy. The leak experience is much better.
@nayelyz Not sure where this feature request would go, but this forum is pretty responsive, so I figured I’d try. The ST team could largely copy the leak experience and get a great result.
Hi, @Meissgenry
I don’t know if you or @blueyetisoftware contacted Customer Support, but I created a ticket to see if the team can look at it.
However, remember that feature requests can take some time to be implemented and must be approved first. Also, is highly possible we won’t get updates about them.
I don’t have information about that but, if you’re interested in a partnership, you could propose to them the benefits as a member of their Community and they can contact partners@smarttings.com to see how they can collaborate.
i actually didnt know until now that mold detectors exist. This is a very rightly said, i think it would be nice in the smartthings home monitor section…
It would be awesome if it could work like the leak detectors, right? The one-sensor-per-automation thing does get a bit overwhelming. I’m kinda new here, stumbled upon this while researching mold stuff for our house in Houston, TX. Dealing with mold can be a headache, but it’s cool to see folks brainstorming solutions. Checked out alldryus.com, seems like a solid Houston Mold Removal & Inspection Company! Imagine the STH team picking up on this suggestion; could make life easier for many.
