[ST Edge] vEdge Creator: a virtual device generator for end users

I have a couple Shelly devices that do.

Nothing stopping me from adding one to the vEdge driver if you need one.

Yes, change your routines to use partyvoice23922.vbatterylevel.

My apologies for the inconvenience.

That must be something new that the platform is doing. The driver doesn’t have any control over what room new devices appear.

I am getting the same error with partyvoice23922.vbatterylevel in tasker.

19.17.44/Ew add wait type EasyAction2 time 2147483647
19.17.44/Ew add wait type EasyAction2 done

Awesome, thank you!

AND it looks like I can use Power Source as a condition in a routine now! I was trying again just since the new year and it still wasn’t working, so this is great! Thanks!

This has been a great help for me. Thank you.

Does anyone have suggestions for how to control fan level using this and an Inovelli fan/light?

I can make a routine that turns the fan on/off. I can also make a routine that matches each level on the virtual switch to a speed on the fan, but it also requires an on command. But I wasn’t sure if there was an easier way to achieve that.

Thank you.

When time allows please Tod, a virtual lux sensor might be fun to play with

You may need to create a new device. The driver tries to update your device, but it may not be happening.

Really sorry for the trouble. I seem to have taken a page out of the SmartThings playbook on this one.

Thanks I will give that a try.

And there is no need to apologize. If it were not for developers like you SmartThings would be useless.

Would a virtual dimmer not work better for fan control than a virtual switch. You would just need to set the % and no need for a on command?

I have installed the driver and scanned, added the device under “Home” but it won’t open. Not sure what to do with it

The device got created? If you can see it in the app, try exiting and restarting your app. I’ve seen this happen lately myself with the new app.

Yeah the device was under Home, but didn’t do anything. Just went back to it now and it’s working. Must have taken some period of time to work properly

Thanks. That does not seem to support my sensor but I try to contact him.

Virtual switches created and they work within smartthings. I was hoping this would eliminate the no connection error in Logitech harmony. Both original and virtual show up no connection.

Is it me, or is this normal for harmony?

Have you converted to the new Harmony driver? I never bothered to connect my Harmony hubs to SmartThings but I believe the old integration is dead.

Haven’t tried that yet. Project for next week. Thanks

There is a Fan type which acts like a dimmer. I was just hoping they would map the dimmer functions automatically.

It might be because the Inovelli is a combo device so it can’t.

I set it up with routines to map the dimmer state to the fan state, just four routines.

If we uninstall the 2.7 driver to update to the 2.8 version, will it affect the devices that were created using the 2.7 version? Also do I need to delete the current driver/device? I’m receiving this error message when trying to uninstall the driver/device.

When you try to uninstall the driver and get that error message the driver will automatically update with in a few minutes.
