The stock driver already has LED control, so it looks like the custom driver would add association groups, if I’m reading that correctly.
That is correct.
I’m experiencing another issue with this dimmer light. They seem to be randomly going offline and the only way to fix is to pull the air gap and push back in.
Would a new driver correct this type of issue?
In general, no. Connectivity (or when a device is marked as “offline”) is handled by the hub internally so drivers can’t really have a say in any method to stay connected or even be notified that connectivity is not well.
Unfortunately SmartThings doesn’t really give any debugging tools for Zwave connectivity. The routes aren’t shown anywhere. Any sort of timeouts aren’t logged.
- How far away is your hub from these devices?
- Did they replace previous devices in the same location that were okay?
- Did you include them in their final location or include them close to the hub and then install them in their location?
- Do you have other powered zwave devices between the hub and these switches that are acting normally and aren’t getting powered down somehow?
I connected and installed in their permanent location in a brand new room created. I added on to my house. These devices are located upstairs and about 30 feet away (through walls/ceiling). There are other zwave devices (in every wall light switch) along the way.
Hi, I just got the same dimmer switches. I tried to enroll to the edge driver for this but I dont see the driver. Has this been added to the driver already?
If it’s not showing as supported then I still need to add it. If you want, include a screen shot of the device info tab from the app.
It will be sometime next week before I can get to any changes.
