[ST Edge] Bond Bridge LAN [BETA]

Yes I initiated the reboot but issue remains. All my hubs auto connect after restart but the bond hub and its devices remained offline

Have you tried restarting the bond hub?

First step would be a reboot of the ST hub, then the bond hub. If that doesn’t work, pull down on the hub device in the ST app to refresh it.

Thanks. Yeah it works now after restarting both. Thanks

I updated to the Bond Bridge v4.6 Beta last night and so far, everything is good with the Bond Bridge LAN Edge driver.

The major new capability that v4 brings for Bond Bridge users is Scene support.

One more thing in regards to Bond Bridge firmware 4.6 beta… it supports Homekit so no need to use homebridge for it now

Looks like only shades are supported for HomeKit. You got my hopes up

I got the driver up and running on a Samsung V2 Hub. It works well in the SmartThings app. However, I am trying to link ST with my Brilliant Smart Home Panel and it is getting picked up as a on/off fan only. I lose the speed control and the ability to turn on/off the light. I am not sure if this is a Brilliant integration problem, or the way the new ST device is being presented. Any ideas?

I doubt you will get support from Brilliant any longer, as of the last report … they have laid off all their staff and looking for a buyer.

I ended up creating virtual devices, and mapped those to the bridge devices. It works OK and I presented the fan as a dimmer to the Brilliant device, then set custom breakpoints to control the speed. A workaround for sure, but is still quick do the edge control for both.

My best guess is that Brilliant doesn’t understand the composite devices. ST allows a device to have multiple functions (fan/light). Brilliant probably assumes it is one or the other and doesn’t check for devices that have additional features.

I know this is old but wondering if you got it figured out.

I’m having the same issue with one remote I have linked to the Bond Bridge when using this driver. All SBB fans and a couple other remotes work fine. But one is “found” and then disappears from the iOS app right away.

The remote in question controls a fireplace which only has on/off and, while I had the Bond learning the remote, it identified a template for this device. I used the template and I’m wondering if that is the problem. I wonder if I could add the remote to the Bond again, but this time teach the whole thing rather than deferring to the template.

The remote shows in the advanced ST page with this same “generic” profile that you mentioned. Also I can see the device in the ST web app. Just don’t see it on the iOS app.

I saw blueyeti recommended you change the icon and I’m wondering if that worked. I don’t have an android device to use but I could try discovery again and when it pops up, I could try to change the icon real quick before the device disappears again.

Hi - I have one Hunter fan w/light connected with a Bond bridge using the service integration. It’s been working well forever. I can across the Edge driver here when setting up your awesome Hue drivers.

So, what will this get me over the service integration? Is it “only” the speed improvements from local operation? Or will I get additional functionality? One thing I have always hated is that ST is not aware of the light status. I always figured that was due to communication (lack of) between the Hunter and the Bond - any chance the Edge driver would fix anythgin there (longshot I know…)

This edge driver allows local control, rather than a cloud integration, so it works when your internet is out. It does support fans with one or more lights and you can see both entities in ST. In the settings for the device, you can also split them.
