I believe the H801 can use 5v. You will likely need to use custom firmware on these to work with SmartThings.

2020-05-27 - Update: The firmware listed in the thread is now (has been for a while) a “Universal” firmware that works with just about any ESP8266 based RGB/WW/CW controller. I believe you could use Tasmota as well, but I have no experience with it.
