Sonoff MINIR4 switch relay

I purchased a Sonoff MINIR4 switch relay to try out. I don’t think it’s Zigbee or ZWave but seems like it’s just Wifi based. To configure it, I need to set it up with WeeLink. But ideally I want to bypass this and just add directly to SmartThings. On smartthings I went to devices and clicked Add and searched for Sonoff and the MINIR4 came up as an option. So i clicked this and it asks me to scan the QR code at the back of the device. I did this but it just keeps throwing a QR code error and says to try again or manually enter the code. So I entered the code under the QR code but doesn’t let me press next.

Anyone know or have any step-by-step guide on how I can add this device to smartthings?

Thanks

You should have bought the MINIR4M which uses Matter over WiFi and can be added directly to the hub.

Oh just noticed the difference is the M at the end. I’ll return this and buy the M one then. Thanks

I’m not saying it works fine because I’ve not tested it but it will allow you to skip the ewelink cloud thanks to Matter.

I have a couple of MINIR4M in operation - installs and works as expected from a Matter device, directly in SmartThings and with native drivers, vendor app or proprietary Edge drivers not needed.
