I have a bunch of Samsung SmartThings RC8335Pro (GP-U999COVLBDA) cameras.
SmartThings is decommissioning their current generation of their SmartThings Video Service. The next generation will require Matter 1.5 Certified Cameras.
Main Questions:
1) SmartThings Firmware Update: Any idea if Samsung SmartThings is going to provide a Firmware Update to make them Matter 1.5 Certified Cameras? Wouldn’t that be nice 
2) Unofficial Firmware Flash to Stock Sercomm Version: In the event they don’t update the firmware, has anyone found a way to flash the firmware to the stock Sercomm Version and open up these “Locked” Cameras so they can be used in a standard Local ONVIF/RTSP IP Camera System? Gemini A.I. indicates “No custom firmware, third-party ROMs, or GitHub hacks exist to convert the SmartThings RC8335 Pro into a local RTSP/ONVIF camera”.

Background: The RC8335Pro’s are made by SerComm, but have proprietary firmware, preventing them from being access by a Local Area Network Camera Server, such as Blue Iris.
Sercomm’s base OEM hardware model number for this camera is RC8335 (and filed with the FCC as RC8335PRO under FCC ID P27RC8335PRO).
Custom Locked Firmware: Samsung had Sercomm burn customized, cryptographically signed firmware onto the RC8335PRO. Unlike generic Sercomm cameras, the SmartThings variant has local web admin endpoints, telnet/SSH access, and local RTSP streams (rtsp:///img/media.sav) disabled by default. The camera is hardcoded to initiate an outbound encrypted tunnel strictly to Samsung’s SmartThings Video cloud servers.
No Official Standard Firmware Flash: Sercomm does not distribute standalone, stock “generic” firmware directly to consumers (they only supply custom builds directly to enterprise partners like Samsung, Comcast/Xfinity, ADT, and Cox). Because of this, there is no official or easily accessible method to un-brick or flash a SmartThings RC8335 into a standard local ONVIF/RTSP IP camera once Samsung shuts down the cloud backend.
