SmartThings hub sth-eth200 - Welcome Code missing

Hi, @DanChlan
I sent you the Welcome Code over DM, please check your inbox here in the forum

Hello Support, last week my STH-ETH-200 disconnected and was with stable blue front light.
In short I tried to reset it and to remove and add to the app, at the end it connected in another network / it seems the issue was a local network problem /
Now it’s frond light is green, but I am missing the welcome code
its SN# 4000197274
Could you please provide it.
Thank you !

Hi, @seikath_okami
Sorry for the delay. I sent you a DM with the Welcome Code, please check your inbox.

Hello, would I be able to get a welcome code for my smartthings hub STH-ETH-200 serial# 3000339468 please?

Thank you

Hi, can you help me with a welcome code as well? SN 4000313731.

Hi welcome code please? Or instructions for setting up the hub in a new place?

If you really need a Welcome Code then you might need to contact Support through the mobile app or however you are supposed to do it these days. It’s really their remit, it at least it was. They’ll need a serial number.

The community aren’t party to changes at SmartThings, which rumours have it are many and various, but currently it appears Developer Support have been caught up in it, though Blue Trail have rotated a number of staff through the team over the years. Anyway it was they who engaged with the forum and took on providing Welcome Codes for those asking here.

As for ‘instructions for setting up the hub in a new place’, what’s the story? What is the hub doing now and what will it be doing? Different owner, different SmartThings Location etc.

So sorry to ask in the wrong place - I have my old hub which I no longer use that I am setting up for my elderly mother so I can monitor some basic things like motion and the stove left on -with her consent of course. I think I can figure it out once I get the code. thanks!

A week or two ago it was by far the best place to ask, it’s just that at the moment we are a bit in the dark.

Sounds like you probably do need the welcome code then. I was just thinking that if it was still installed you might have been able to avoid a reset. Mind you it’s always better to have the code. It’s a pity they presented it on a card as if it were a one off thing instead of making it explicit the code needed to be retained for future use.

The battle I would have in your situation is introducing something new to the house that is plugged in all the time.
