Ive changed a stabdard bulb for an edison bulb in a lamp controlled by smart plug and now it doesn’t work. Lamp and bulbs work fine when plugged in without smart plug and have tried disconnecting and resitting the smart plug. Any ideas?

Assuming the plug has a power button somewhere on it, no? I’d start there. This happens with my innr plugs sometimes, hitting power on and off fixes it most of the time.
I’ve seen the term ‘Edison bulb’ used for a decorative LED filament bulb in the style of an incandescent GLS bulb. What is considered a ‘standard’ bulb these days? Which was in use originally, the standard or the Edison?
What is the make/model of smart plug? Is it working with anything else, or only not working with the bulbs? Does it claim to be turning on and off?

Using the EIGHTREE smart plug. For soms reason iys decided to work today! No idea why, but thanks for comments!
