Hi, I am currently rewiring my house and was wondering if I should put in new doorbell chimes or try to use my Google Home speakers to play a “ding-dong” when someone rings the doorbell. Is the latter even possible? I have Skybell for my doorbell, SmartThings, and a Google Home in pretty much each room. I tried Googling for a solution but it doesn’t look like Google Home makes audio notifications easy.
I know that a Nest Hello doorbell will ring your google speakers, I doubt they would deal with any other type natively, but maybe with ST as an intermediary… ? I have a Hello but tbh I’d not want to rely on Google and have also wired the system up to a normal chime system. All of them go off at once which is quite a cacophony!
