Noticed a new option when dismissing a SHM alert. Any info on what this does @slagle
Probably a data point that is critical for their integration with Scout and ADT professional monitoring.
Good point. It could be a way for a user to notify those services it was a false alarm.
Does anyone actually know if this “This was a false alarm” checkbox does anything?
Yes, we’re collecting this information to help reduce false positives in SHM. It’s actively reviewed by the product managers and engineering managers in charge of SHM.
Good to know, I will start using it more accurately now. Before I was
ticking it if it was my cat.

Could you guys add another option such as “This was a test”. When I add new equipment I’d like to test to make sure it works as it should. Each time I’ve done so I’ve checked the “This was a false alarm” box.
For our purposes that would be a real alert
I’ll bring it up with the team though! Thanks!
That’s a great idea. I see cons this.
