Setting up Aqara FP300 in Smartthings for dummies

I have the sensor added to my hub but the Presence detection stays present.

  • was able to format in Aqara Home to Zigbee and back to Thread to update to the latest firmware 1101. re-added in ST via Thread, set the sensor in its designated spot, then rebooted the Hub and this seems to have helped Presence. I feel like it was a signal/connection problem to the hub causing foreverPresence.

there are no options to refresh or disable the sensors in the Settings of the device.

  • checked here > no word on settings adjustment

read up here about a custom Edge driver, but that seems to be on a pause until further notice from Aqaras development.

why is this so difficult? do i really have to get an Aqara hub to adjust settings of the device?

Hi @9three

Could you please enable support access on your account and the name of the device experiencing the issue? This information will help us investigate the problem further.

  1. Confirm the email account registered in the forum is the same one you use for SmartThings. If not, please share it with me over DM.
  2. Enable support access to your account:

Not a SmartThings issue.

The device itself doesn’t offer a feature to reset the presence sensor. Maybe the upcoming Aqara FP310 has it.

it is a Smartthings issue if the device cannot be fully controlled from Smartthings. Aqara is a “partner” so the sensor should be fully accessible from within ST.

The device is Matter over Thread by default and the Matter firmware doesn’t offer any preferences or settings - just like the Aqara H2 Wall Switch.

i understand this, however, as an end user, i dont accept this as an answer.

Did you read the product description?

Do you know that the device manufacturer is responsible for the integration in the smart home platforms?

And no, you can’t reset the presence, even with an Aqara hub.

And to be fair I can’t think of a single device that when it’s wrong you can reset it via an app.

like i said, i understand. Can Matter be updated to support this? the answer is yes.
