# Samsung windfree aircon control slow to load in smartthings

Whenever I try to change options for my samsung windfree ac in the smartthings app, it takes a long time to connect to the server at first I understand the device is not local, but surely it should be faster considering its a samsung device? is there any alternate solutions like a device handler or something to access it quicker, I know people with home assistant can access it through the api really quickly
