Hello I was wondering if I have a smart things hub and my new Samsung Tv has smart things do I still need to use the hub . Thank you in advance
You still need to use the smartthings hub if you have zwave or zigbee devices. The TV doesn’t have the radios needed to communicate with those devices.
If you are only using the smartthings app to control Wi-Fi devices that have an official smartthings integration, or other official cloud to cloud integrations, or Samsung smart appliances that have a smartthings integration, then you don’t need to have a hub.
So as always, it comes back to the first rule of home automation: “the model number matters.“

Thank you for the help and since i had the hub before the TV i might as well hook it back up one less thing to be concerned about
