Does samsung q990c soundbar support 5ghz wifi connection? Service center said it isnt
.
Im not sure why this hasn’t been responded to, maybe just try connecting it to 5GHz and see how it acts , if not good tgen switch back to 2.4
The Samsung Q990C is an excellent soundbar. The Dolby Atmos sounds incredible. Although it is supposed to support 5 GHz, there are Wi-Fi issues with it. Unfortunately, Samsung has not yet addressed this problem. The issue specifically pertains to 5 GHz networks and 2.4 GHz with WPA3 enabled. It works fine on 2.4 GHz with WPA3 disabled. It took me quite some time to get it to stay on the network and connected to SmartThings! People with Wi-Fi routers that can’t separate the 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz frequencies are out of luck on this one and won’t be able to get it to work.
Side comment … I als found that my internet modem’s Band steering setting caused issues between the Samsung TV and the Q990C as it would put the TV on 5GHz and the soundbar on 2.4GHz.
I have had the exact same issue. Do you know if there is a way to force the tv to connect to 2.4 GHz?
The Samsung will connect for the wireless connect you setup. I got mine to connect via 5.8GHz then set the soundbar up on 2.4GHz and then got the TV to link via 2.4 to the sound bar. It would then randomly drop connection, but I found setting the hub up in the soundbar reduced that and it it now drop, I just turn the TV off and on again
