I’m not currently using it but I decided to enable the hub feature of my Samsung family hub refrigerator about 6 or more weeks ago.
I was waiting and expecting Its firmware to update but it seems stuck on 57.15.
It’s not a massive issue but I was wondering if it will update at all now?
I don’t know of a a way to force the ST hub portion to update. The Software Update option in the settings of the Family Hub is for the fridge Tizen OS upgrade. The ST hub is an independent application that runs on the fridge OS and doesn’t seem to expose any update method.
My fridge is running Tizen 7.0 and my ST hub is at 60.14.
Yeah, my fridge is also tizen 7.0 but the hub therein is steadfastly 57.15
@nayelyz Does engineering have a way to force the hub to upgrade?
Hi, @Declankh
Can you enable access to your account so I can ask the team if they can help, please?
- Confirm the email account registered in the forum is the same one you use for SmartThings. If not, please share it with me over DM
- Enable support access to your account:
- Go to the SmartThings Web (my.smartthings.com)
- Log in to your Samsung Account
- Select Menu (⋮) and choose Settings
- Toggle on Account Data Access
- Select the time period and confirm - In this step, please select “Until turned off”, once the team finishes, we’ll let you know so you can disable it again.
See more information about this access here: https://support.smartthings.com/hc/en-us/articles/36170233944852-Enabling-Account-Data-Access-for-Support
Hi, @Declankh
Checking the hub’s details, I see its Zigbee radio is marked as non-functional.
So, I think it not updating is part of something bigger since the radio should be functional but I’m not an expert in this type of Hub.
I’ll see who could help check the reason for this
The zigbee bit is only functional if you add the zigbee dongle (which I don’t have). But it should still operate as a WiFi and matter controller as a hub. The absence of a dongle ought not to preclude it from a firmware upgrade surely ?
I don’t have info about that, sorry. I created a report for the engineering team. Once I get their feedback, I’ll let you know.
Any news yet? It’s been 11 days. Thanks in advance
Hi @nayelyz any update from the engineering team yet? It’s been over a month since I raised the issue, my fridge hub is still on 57.1.
Thanks in advance
@Itati can you advise on above? Thanks in advance
Hi, @Declankh
Sorry for the delay. The last time you asked, I commented on the report asking for an update from the engineering team, but they didn’t reply.
Since these types of devices are handled by a different team than the ones of V2-V4, we’ve seen they take a while to respond, but we’ll keep insisting.
I suggest you also send a report through Customer Support every once in a while to see if their way of escalating the ticket helps.
