I had better luck using Rule Machine to fire some rules. Since I moved to it to run my good morning routine I don’t recall any failures. Using ST built in smartapps, it failed to execute 20% of the time, and often I realized when the alarm went off as i went out to walk the dog.
I recommend using rule machine as a backup for your routines… I do at a fixed time… ie if things quite down has not run by 1 am… I fire off anyway… same for turning lights on and off as a backup.
Yeah I have been debating having overlapping rules, ie use Smart Lighting and Rule Machine to automatically turn on kitchen lights. I have tried using both independently and about 10% of the time it does not work, the lights stay on or don’t turn off.
Every forum in the world has this issue. The problem with large threads it is hard to read through. Often times if a user posts “I have an issue can someone help?” they get pointed in the right direction.
Another issue with some threads is when the posts drift from the actual topic.
