Nice! Ring integration.

Ugh this almost makes me regret going with Kuna. I want to see some smart home integration at least IFTTT.

To be honest, don’t count on anything until you see official notice from SmartThings that it’s actually happening.

This notice was caught by @blebson so fingers crossed it’ll happen but I guess I won’t get any hopes up until it does.

Didn’t Skybell release their 3rd gen with 1080P and video recording with no monthly or annual fee?
I know it also have IFTTT.

I like Ring because if its stolen I get a free replacement.

Yes, we have a 1080p camera, free cloud recording, and we current work with IFTTT, Amazon Echo/Alexa and Works with Nest. We’ve also partnered with Alarm.com, Honeywell and Monitronics as their doorbell of choice for their home security services. Lastly, we are members of Apple Homekit and Comcast Xfinity Home.

In addition, SkyBell HD has full color night vision and works with mechanical and digital door chimes. We have 180 degree field of few with no fisheye, no periscope effect and no blind spots.

We also provide a free replacement if it’s stolen.

Here’s a photo of the night vision.

Finally, CNET named SkyBell HD as the best video doorbell in the segment.

When you consider that review, and you consider our list of partners, I’m confident that everyone will have a great SkyBell HD experience.

Sorry to hear this. Sounds like an issue with the 2.0 device. Did you contact customer service to return or exchange? support@skybell.com.

Nice to know Sky bell have free replacement.

Is it integrated with Smartthings? if not,

Can there an extra button on the bottom to integrate IFTTT to unlock front door?

Before I add any thing new it needs wife approved.

Vic, our SmartThings integration will be out very soon. We’re getting close.

We currently work with IFTTT right now. We have a trigger for button press & motion sensor alert. You don’t need an extra button.

Will your smartthings integration be cloud to cloud? Can you offer us any more information on what types of capabilities will be exposed?

Hi Jason, I cannot at this time. As the only doorbell with bi-directional APIs at this time, I believe you’ll be happy with the capabilities in the integration.

Sounds like something big and exciting coming.

I can’t wait to see… I don’t like the fees that Ring has and i’m glad to hear Skybell has free cloud storage for video.

Oh hell if ring integrates Im buying one. Thank you for the update.

It’s coming! But don’t expect to be able to see the video stream, the integration will nist likely be much like how it integrates with Wink, in that you’ll be able to cut out the IFTTT middle man by being able to trigger from motion/button presses directly.

Honestly whichever video doorbell directly integrates with ST first will likely get my money… I’ve been looking for a long time and that’s the hold up for me. I also would prefer to have local video storage, but it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen.

I agree! SkyBell looks promising but the deciding factor will most likely be Smartthings compatibility…

I don’t like the form factor of the SkyBell and last year when I got the Ring it seemed like the $30 a year was reasonable. Seems like the SkyBell HD has fixed some of the issues, but still not sold on the form factor.

Its nice that there is competition, so I am sure they are just going to continue to improve.

First one to connect via PoE gets my money (provided I don’t build something from a RPi first).

I fully agree with you but SkyBell was not up to snuff last year when I was in the market . Now the $30 a year is 7 years of service (assuming $199 to move to SkyBell HD). So I am in a lets see what happens.
