Samsung has dropped the ball. They have barely added any new integratable devices for al.ost a year now. When I go through the list of manual adds ot is near identical to last year. I’m not sure how they expect to keep a customer base when they are not enhancing their software.
Darn this is really disappointing. I bought the doorbell Pro and love it and just assumed all the other cameras would work with SmartThings since it does. Bought three of the spotlight cameras only to find out it wouldn’t add any of them last night. Guess all three cameras are being returned for something actually supported.
Works with Stringify without any issues.
How do you have it setup with SmartThings?
For the record, I’ve got my spotlight cam working via IFTTT/Smartthings + a virtual switch. I.e. motion triggers IFTTT to turn on a ST virtual switch which, in turn, triggers a webcore piston that plays sounds of aggressive dogs via my Sonos system and turns on lights but only whilst I’m away etc, etc.
How did you do this? I want to do the same but unable to find any information as ifttt doesn’t allow me to have a time condition. TIA.
IFTTT always triggers the virtual switch, but the switch doesn’t do anything unless conditions are met in webcore. I.e. if mode is away or night etc. Will share the piston with you when I get a chance, but you’ll need a harmony hub, and a Sonos playlist with only the ‘guard dogs’ album (found on Spotify) in it to replicate exactly.
There is a way to play sounds/music on your Sonos without using the harmony hub, but if you have one, it’s much easier to doing it using this method…
Here you go. ‘Switch 25’ is the ST virtual switch that gets triggered by IFTTT
‘Switch 10’ is my ‘Guard dog harmony activity’ which basically plays the ‘guard dogs’ playlist from Spotify that has been saved to my Sonos playlists (Harmony can only see music saved to Sonos playlists).
RGB bulb is an outdoor Osram strip light that lights up to help with recording quality.
Any movement on this? I’d be very happy to have all 3 of my Ring camera’s integrated. Please Samsung get this done, make it happen.
I don’t think Samsung reads these threads. So, the best thing is to send an email to the Smartthings support urging them to integrate the Floodlight Cam.
I’ve done it and waiting on their response.
I would re-ping support on both ends. I am thinking about doing that.
kinda wish I had a floodlight or spotlight cam to test with now.
Where is said Easter Egg? I have been waiting over a year since I got it because it said on the description “works with SmartThings”. Every time I have pinged them, they say that they did their work and were waiting on you.
The point of an Easter egg is to go hunt for it first thing I’d try is going into the Ring Connect Smart app and see if it brings in the other cameras.
And now my coworkers are looking at me funny because I am dancing for joy that something I wanted for over a year now works…which is not a shocker that my coworkers look at me funny…
Thank you, @Automated_House
What capabilities got added? Motion? Live stream?
Just motion and light on/off. No live stream as of yet.
I heard a long, long time ago, they might add dimming to the floodlight but that has not yet happened. I would love to be able to put it on at sunset at 30% dim, raise it to 100% when motion happens, and dim it back down to 30% when motion is over. Then, shut it off at bedtime and only turn it on if motion activates it until sunrise. I do that with my porch light using a smart dimmer on it, the motion sensor in the ring doorbell, and the Smart Porch Light app by @jdiben
