[REMOVED] Nest Manager 4.0

I got the same thing, haven’t updated to 4.0 (still on the latest 3.x) yet, so I think it is a Nest change and not related to 4.0. I made a mental note a week ago to post this here and forgot…

The automation will override the user setting, likely within 30 minutes of the user making the manual change in the Nest app (similar to your option A). With the settings you described, the automation is tracking the switch state.

Nope that one is my bad. I had to update the API version to activate the new upcoming functions nest added. I completely spaced out on sending out a notice to the users.

Well what the hell are you waiting for take the plunge

Something about having to follow instructions.

Ok I see the problem.

https://graph-na02-useast1.api.smartthings.com

and

https://graph.api.smartthings.com/

are two different sites for smartthings ide. I’ve been using both without knowing or understanding that its different. Anyway, after updating the Nest Manager in https://graph-na02-useast1.api.smartthings.com it shows up in my smartthings app.

Now, is there any benefit to using either https://graph-na02-useast1.api.smartthings.com or https://graph.api.smartthings.com/ ?

You want to use the shard you are on.

I always go to http://ide.smartthings.com and it redirects me.

Brand new to ST and am amazed at the community support here. I just installed the manager app and really like it so far, but I’m wondering if anyone else is having the same issue as me or did I do something wrong?

My nest cam won’t show live video, only a still image and the last event. Any help would be much appreciated.

There is a post that says:

  • In order to use the Nest Cams video stream you must enable public streaming on your cameras at home.nest.com (Once this is done on the next device poll that info will be sent to the device handler and the video stream will show up.

Ah thank you, I thought I had already done that. That fixed it.

Edit:
I am having another issue. When I first load the Smartthings app I can view the camera no problem. When I leave that page to view something else such as some lights or the thermostat, and then I try to go back to the camera, it just keeps trying to load with a blank screen. If I exit the app and reload it happens all over again. Anyone else have this issue? Thanks in advance.

I am not experiencing that issue. What happens if you scroll to the bottom of the screen and click on refresh?

Doesn’t do anything, I still have a blank screen that is trying to load. Its very odd. I noticed it does the same thing in the Event History part of the thermostat. The first time it loads then anytime after that it is just a blank loading screen.

What device / mobile version are you on?

LG G5 with latest Android. Same issue when I use my wifes GS7

You will probably get asked to check your IDE logs to see if there are any errors.

I’m fairly new to the Smartthings Hub and especially to adding custom device handlers so please forgive me if I am asking a question that’s already been answered. I’ve been searching forums and I have not found an answer to this. I have a Nest Thermostat and I added the Nest Thermostat device handler found in the Nest Manager 4 to my hub. It shows up fine in the app on my phone but when I click on it the app immediately crashes. Has anyone else experienced this and does anyone know a solution? Thanks for your help!

When you mentioned that you “added the Nest Thermostat device handler” - did you add all the Nest Manager device handlers?

All working great here

Yeah that may be an important piece of the puzzle. I only have the nest thermostat myself. However, as I went through the implementation instructions, i noticed it specifically said to add all of the device handlers. So perhaps there are some dependencies that require the presence of all device handlers regardless of whether you use them all or not. Can’t speak for certain on it but it’s working just fine for me so…

So I was messing with the Nest Manager config and decided to enable Nest Weather (at first I thought it was to connect to a weather device but it appears it’s just an app to use the weather to interact with your Nest thermostat?)

One thing I find odd is the zip code listed is not correct. It’s close to my house, but definitely not my zip. Is this configurable? I’m not seeing it anywhere.
